About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Unarmed Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients in industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use the company’s shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on their availability, building a schedule while gaining site experience across industries. The role may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice.

The officer performs security and safety duties at assigned sites, including patrols, monitoring conditions and access points, responding to incidents, maintaining reports and logs, and assisting customers, employees, and visitors professionally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations, identifying critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork.
• Attention to detail.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn people of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized people to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
