About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Flex Officer to safeguard clients in industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on their availability, gaining experience across different sites. The position may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. Nights and weekend availability are required. Pay is $18.60 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• A minimum of one year of security experience, or prior law enforcement or military experience, is stated as required in the job description.
• Licensing may be required before employment, depending on state and local laws and regulations.
• Valid driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must be at least 18 years old, or older if required by the state; 21 years old if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, informatively, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as required by site Post Orders.
