About The Position

The Security Flex Officer maintains the overall security of assigned facilities by enforcing access control and observing, correcting, and reporting violations of applicable rules and regulations. The officer supports Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork in daily work. Flex Officers have open availability and assist with vacancies, PTO coverage, and operational demands. The position pays $16.50 per hour; if a Flex Officer accepts a permanent site assignment, pay transitions to the standard wage rate associated with that position. Work takes place in climate-controlled buildings and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting, and may involve threatening situations and exposure to bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluids. The officer must be able to lift 50 pounds. Uniform and grooming rules require tattoos to be concealed, prohibit tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands, require facial piercings to be removed while on duty, and require clean-shaven facial hair except for a mustache, with clean, neatly trimmed, naturally colored hair. Continued employment depends on passing a criminal background check, employment verification, a pre-employment and random employment drug screens, and a clean motor vehicle record check if driving is required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school graduate or GED recipient.
Demonstrate commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
Exercise patience, tact, enthusiasm, and diplomacy when dealing with others.
Show initiative and sound judgment when evaluating and reacting to situations.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potentially stressful and time-sensitive situations.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including ability to prioritize.
Ability to work with minimum supervision, read and comprehend detailed instructions, and process information accurately and clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens; a clean MVR check is required if driving.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Document security activity in Daily Activity Reports and complete incident reports as required.
Control vehicle and personnel access according to established procedures.
Respond to emergency situations according to established procedures.
Operate specialized equipment as needed, including closed-circuit television systems, vehicle scales, and computer systems.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
Identify projects that improve effectiveness and efficiency and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Enforce Sizemore’s and client policies and procedures.
Assist with vacancies, PTO coverage, and operational demands.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
