About The Position

The Unarmed Security Officer maintains a safe, secure, and orderly environment for employees, visitors, clients, and property. The officer monitors assigned areas, deters unauthorized activity, responds to incidents, enforces site policies, and provides professional customer service while maintaining a calm and alert presence. Flex officers provide fill-in coverage for call-offs, vacations, and additional coverage needs. The position is located in Pataskala, Ohio, approximately 15–20 minutes outside downtown Columbus. Pay is $17 per hour. Walden Security offers training, flexible scheduling with multiple shifts, and opportunities for career growth.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum age of 21.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with security systems, cameras, and basic office technology, including email and Microsoft Office.
Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service; experience is not required, and training is available.
Security Officer License, where applicable.
CPR/First Aid Certification.
Previous security and supervisory experience.
For posts requiring operation of a company vehicle, age over 25 and a screened motor vehicle record are required; accidents and violations are reviewed case by case.
