About The Position

This position manages the use of the information security tool sets including vulnerability management, configuration management, endpoint security and security posture assessment to ensure our environment and custom software is secure. Day to day functions include upgrading and patching application software and operating systems, tracking, and replacing certificates and remediating vulnerabilities detected on our equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2-year degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of general IT experience.
  • Minimum 1 years of IT security experience
  • Ability to read and write bat and shell scripts.
  • Proficient understanding of Linux and Windows administration, including authentication systems and GPO policies.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting language to support automation and operational efficiency.
  • Proficient understanding of networking concepts including routing, switching, layer 2/3, and NAT.
  • Proficient understanding of firewall ruleset design in an enterprise setting.
  • Proficiency in SSL/TLS certificate management, certificate chains and request/issue/renew procedures.
  • Background and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with audit procedures and producing audit artifact documents.
  • Certifications: one of CISSP, CCNA, or CISA desirable.
  • Additional scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Linux shell and/or JavaScript.
  • Unix administration background.
  • Experience with packet capture interpretation or multi-factor authentication desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the operations staff to ensure the security tools are integrated into other corporate infrastructure.
  • Work with the compliance team at the direction of management to ensure the security tools are supporting all compliance efforts.
  • Document gaps that are not being met by our current toolset and research solutions to meet them.
  • Tune and maintain all tools owned by the security team, and update corresponding documentation.
  • Ensures that tools are running vendor supported versions and are scaled correctly, including operating systems and supporting applications.
  • Assist other security teams in incident resolution and risk assessments.
  • Maximize value of tools already purchased.
  • Contribute to the development of Early Warning security policy and procedures.
  • Comply with all company and department policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.
  • On-call rotation with other security engineers to cover 24x7 response.
  • Work with other security engineering staff to expand your skills and experience with our toolset and security principles in general.
  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
