About The Position

Immediate opportunity available for a Security Electronic Technician. This role involves analyzing systems operations and test results to ensure proper systems operation and determine maintenance requirements beyond standard solutions. The technician will analyze systems operations and test results to identify unusual technical anomalies requiring advanced solutions. They will execute advanced troubleshooting procedures for Hirsch Electronics Velocity systems, including resolving complex database connectivity issues between Velocity and Microsoft SQL Server. Additionally, the role requires developing specialized "Truncate" commands in Velocity to prevent system overload from runaway alarms while preserving table structure integrity. The technician will identify and document system malfunctions, implement corrections, and advise on system abnormalities that impact future design considerations. The position also includes performing comprehensive TIA/EIA-568 compliant cable testing, documentation, and termination for various cable types, as well as configuring and maintaining advanced access control systems.

Requirements

  • Additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities is required
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs is imperative
  • Comprehensive understanding of electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance
  • In-depth knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design characteristics, and functional use of various types and models of electronic equipment and systems
  • Proficiency in techniques and theories characteristic of electronics, including basic electricity and electronic theory, algebra, and elementary physics
  • Proven experience in the installation of the aforementioned systems
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and supervise preventative maintenance programs for security systems
  • Capacity to analyze system operations, interpret test results, and determine maintenance needs

Nice To Haves

  • Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours)
  • Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program
  • Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems

Responsibilities
