About The Position

Peraton is seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Electronic Technician II position with the Postal CRF program located in Topeka, KS. The Electronic Technician works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations. Our electronic technicians apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems in various types of electronic equipment. Job specific tasks include: Perform testing and repair of simple to complex electronic and electromechanical equipment using common hand tools and general to more complex test equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, Teradyne, etc.) Diagnose and repair items to the component level Receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician and work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians Performs other related duties as assigned #CRF2026

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with two years related experience
  • Formal electronics training from an accredited program or equivalent military training
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform component level repairs on simple to high complexity electronic/electromechanical items
  • Mastery of troubleshooting techniques
  • Microprocessor/microcomputer theory, solid state electronics, and digital and analog theory training
  • Understanding of general test equipment
  • Knowledge of schematic symbols, values and their meaning

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with handling of ESD sensitive items
  • J-STD-001 certification
  • ISCET Certified Electronic Technician (CET) certification

Responsibilities
