About The Position

Security Drop Officers are responsible for providing security during the drop process, escorting the drop team throughout the casino to ensure compliance with Missouri Gaming Commission regulations. They also focus on providing superior service to guests by seeking opportunities to assist, maintaining visible patrols for a safe gaming experience, and supporting other departments. Key duties include collaborating with Countroom and Slot Performance teams, securing drop zones, politely moving guests from the drop zone area, and notifying surveillance and MGC as needed. Officers are expected to uphold safety and security standards, report safety concerns, maintain a professional appearance, demonstrate teamwork, and be open to coaching and continuous improvement. They may also be required to perform additional security officer responsibilities, including administering first aid and CPR/AED when necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity and adhere to standards of a regulated business.
  • Eligible to obtain a Missouri Gaming License.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Operate effectively in fast-paced and stressful environments.
  • Stand for prolonged periods (up to entire shift), bend, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, grip, and lift/push/pull items (minimum 25 lbs; up to 150 lbs with reasonable accommodations).
  • Comfortable in areas with second-hand smoke, bright lights, high noise, dust, and high traffic.
  • Respond to visual and auditory cues.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Basic math skills (addition/subtraction).
  • Ability to handle items such as chips, money bags, computers.
  • Excellent vision including peripheral.

Responsibilities

  • Providing safety and security for guests.
  • Looking for and reporting safety concerns (e.g., ripped carpet, spills, broken glass) to Facilities or EVS.
  • Reporting to work in a clean, pressed, and appropriate uniform, adhering to appearance guidelines.
  • Offering assistance, cooperating with colleagues within and across departments and shifts.
  • Actively participating in buzz sessions and offering to work extra hours to meet business demands.
  • Making efforts to improve and learn from mistakes.
  • Attending training and applying learned skills on the job.
  • Seeking constructive feedback and ways to improve.
  • Performing Security Officer responsibilities in addition to listed items.
  • Applying first aid as appropriate to employees and guests.
  • Providing immediate CPR/AED lifesaving, medical care as necessary.
  • Providing Security for the Drop Process by escorting the drop team throughout the Casino to maintain Missouri Gaming Commission’s regulations.
  • Providing superior service to Harrah's guests by seeking out opportunities to be of service.
  • Maintaining highly visible patrols to ensure a safe gaming experience.
  • Assuring quality support to other departments so that they may serve guests more effectively.
  • Maintaining public order, enforcing safety rules, protecting property and assets, and investigating disturbances in the hotel and casino.
  • Collaboration with the Countroom and Slot Performance teams.
  • Securing the drop zones.
  • Moving guests as needed from the drop zone area in a polite manner.
  • Notifying surveillance and MGC as needed throughout the drop process.
