About The Position

The Security Dispatcher in the Safety and Security Department answers calls for service, deploys security resources effectively and efficiently, uses Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) to record and monitor security resources, and monitors safety and security systems. The position is on-site and includes variable day, evening, and night shifts. Weekend work is required according to department rotation; there is no call requirement.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• One year of dispatcher experience in an EMS, air medical, police, fire, or security communications center; or at least two years of experience in a medical setting emphasizing incoming multi-line phones and call triage; or at least two years of customer service experience emphasizing multi-line phones and call triage.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems, make effective decisions under pressure, and work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work effectively with hospital staff, public service agencies, peers, coworkers, and the general public.
• Typing speed of 25 words per minute.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter security activity data in a timely and efficient manner.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; work visa sponsorship is unavailable.
