About The Position

The Security Director is responsible for delivering high-quality security services focused on protecting people and property, while providing unparalleled customer service. This role involves building and maintaining effective relationships with management, employees, vendors, and law enforcement partners. The Director will provide national support for site risk assessment and threat management programs, supervise security operations and a contracted staff of security officers at the corporate campus HQ in downtown Denver, CO, and deliver geographically diverse Executive support services on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Possess or obtain Certified Threat Manager (CTM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or higher certification
  • State of Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit
  • City and County of Denver Security Guard License
  • 5+ years of business management/operations/supervisory experience with budget accountability
  • 7+ years of behavioral threat assessment and violence management or mitigation, security, threat investigations, or related experience
  • Previous leadership role in military, foreign service, or law enforcement
  • Experience in incident management, threat management, corporate investigations, law enforcement investigations, crisis management, or related field
  • Extensive experience working directly with C-Suite executives, elected officials, or political appointees
  • Indirectly influence adjacent teams to accomplish enterprise goals
  • Ability to work independently, in a team-oriented management environment, and with an entrepreneurial attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (Federal LEO)
  • Preferred 3 + years corporate physical security experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide national support to site risk assessment and threat management programs.
  • Manage highly sensitive and urgent threat of violence concerns, and effectively assess risk of violence utilizing industry standards, accepted behavioral threat assessment, and management methodologies to mitigate threats.
  • Lead executive protection program.
  • Oversee physical security at the world headquarters in Denver.
  • Manage contract security team, including training, post orders, and vendor relationship.
  • Maintain operational procedures for emergency reference by security staff.
  • Handle escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
  • Liaise with law enforcement and cultivate sustainable relationships with industry experts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Lower Downtown stakeholders: Regional Transit Department, Denver PD, and Federal Law Enforcement.
  • Meet all operational, reporting, budget, and contract compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
