The Calgary Drop-In and Rehab Centre (the DI) is dedicated to serving its community with kindness, with a mission to end homelessness one person at a time. The DI offers more than just emergency shelter; it provides a holistic approach to support, including safe accommodation, meals, health and recovery services, and housing supports. All programs are low-barrier, trauma-informed, housing-focused, and recovery-oriented. The Safety Ambassador role is essential to the operation of the emergency shelter, working collaboratively with all departments to monitor and respond to security and safety concerns using an engaging, trauma-informed, and individual-centered approach. Safety Ambassadors must conduct themselves professionally and adhere to the DI's core principles: low-barrier, housing-focused shelter, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, individual-centered, housing first, shelter procedures, and governing legislation.
