About The Position

We are seeking a dependable, alert, and professional Overnight Security Officer to maintain a safe and orderly environment during overnight hours. The ideal candidate has a strong security background, a confident and commanding presence, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to respond appropriately to unexpected situations with minimal supervision. The role deters unwanted activity through visibility and professionalism, identifies potential risks, de-escalates confrontational situations when possible, documents incidents accurately, and contacts appropriate authorities when necessary.

Candidates must be physically capable of performing the essential duties of an overnight security position, including extended standing and walking, routine patrols, remaining alert throughout overnight shifts, and safely lifting, carrying, or moving objects as required. The role is an unarmed security position and requires a confident, professional physical presence and appropriate responses to safety concerns, disturbances, and emergencies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of security experience.
• Strong observation, situational awareness, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive during stressful or confrontational situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain daily activity logs.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and sound judgment when working independently overnight.
• Ability to follow established security protocols, emergency procedures, and escalation guidelines.
• Ability to meet applicable licensing, registration, and background-screening requirements for the position.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, conduct routine patrols, remain alert throughout overnight shifts, and safely lift, carry, or move objects as required.
• Ability to respond appropriately to safety concerns, disturbances, and emergencies within the scope of an unarmed security role.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or other security environments.
• A commanding professional presence, strong interpersonal awareness, and the ability to recognize when to intervene, de-escalate, or contact appropriate authorities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the property and help deter unauthorized access, disturbances, and suspicious activity.
• Conduct routine patrols and observe entrances, common areas, and other designated locations.
• Identify potential safety and security risks and take appropriate action.
• De-escalate conflicts when safe and appropriate while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Document incidents, unusual activity, security concerns, and relevant observations in detailed written reports.
• Notify management, emergency services, law enforcement, or other appropriate parties when circumstances warrant.
• Follow established emergency response procedures and communicate relevant information during incidents.
• Maintain a visible security presence and interact professionally with residents, guests, employees, and visitors.
• Exercise sound independent judgment while recognizing when a situation requires additional assistance.
