This position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems to include the wiring, equipment and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, and intercom systems for clients. The role involves installing cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to national electric code, company, and customer guidelines. The technician will use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complex problems during installation, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. They will readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, test for operation, and perform system checks. The role requires knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; and media storage. The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work with attention to detail, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and establish cooperative working relationships is essential. The technician must be able to analyze information and work unsupervised, completing installation jobs independently and self-motivatedly. They will also complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments, feed cables through various spaces, position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping, and drill holes for wiring. Conducting end-user training and isolating trouble to a customer network are also key responsibilities.
