About The Position

This position functions as a uniformed first line of staff demonstrating a knowledge of facility and departmental policies, procedures and protocol to provide safety, protection and security for the customer, equipment and physical plant. In addition, this position supports the treatment of clients that are family driven and youth guided.

Requirements

High School diploma or high school equivalency certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien status.
Must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland if assigned duties requiring vehicle operation.
Must obtain a Maryland driver's license of the appropriate class if assigned to operate large vans to transport patients.
Must provide the facility with a telephone number where they can be reached.
Must successfully complete the training prescribed by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission for a Correctional Officer during their probationary period.
Must meet the selection standards required by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission.
Must pass a background investigation.
Must pass an oral interview.
Must pass a physical examination.
Subject to substance abuse testing.
