About The Position

The Department of Technology Operations needs assistance with supporting deployment and management of the State-Wide Information Technology Shared Services Cloud initiatives and projects. This position will be used to further develop the State of South Carolina Cloud Strategy, work with State agencies for adoption and support the managed cloud broker. This is a new position.

Requirements

• 10 years infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or architecture
• 8+ years technical architecture
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and 8+ years of technical architecture experience and relevant hands-on engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Expertise in Terraform infrastructure as code, understanding of scaling technologies and solutions, experience with AWS or other clouds, familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container platforms, security, penetration testing and threat detection tools, and experience wServiceNow, Datadog, Dome9, and/or Aviatrix.
• Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment.
• 5-7 years AWS (IAM, Organizations, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.)
• 3-5 years Azure (RBAC, Azure AD, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.)
• 3-7 years enterprise cloud architecture or governance
• 3-5 years Terraform and infrastructure as a code
• 3-5 years cloud migrations and platform operations
• 3+ years technical leadership and knowledge transfer
• Public Cloud infrastructure expertise
• AWS and/or Azure certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform system administration, automation, and development tasks for the Cloud Management Platform (CMP).
• Work with DTO and customer personnel to facilitate migrations to the DTO cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain continuity of shared services offered across AWS and Azure.
