About The Position

Reporting to the Protection Force Manager, the Security Administrator provides critical operational support to the Protection Force Manager and other Security departments or functions. This role functions as a specialized hybrid, combining the technical rigors of federal security compliance (10 CFR 73/95) with the sophisticated organizational skills required of an Executive Assistant.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain or possess a US NRC/DOE Q-clearance or equivalent (DOD Top Secret).
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Visitor systems and vetting, Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Must demonstrate a proactive "questioning attitude."
  • Ability to identify and tactfully challenge unauthorized individuals or non-compliant behavior.
  • Proven ability to handle Sensitive Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information (SUNSI) and PII with total confidentiality.
  • Exceptional "concierge-level" professionalism.
  • Ability to enforce strict security protocols while maintaining a welcoming, executive-grade environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills; ability to remain calm and authoritative during high-traffic periods or security incidents.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with 10 CFR 73 (Physical Protection) and the NISPOM (32 CFR 117) is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, walk throughout the facility as needed, and maintain attentiveness in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Must also be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and use standard office and security equipment for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Execute visitor pre-screening protocols to ensure compliance with 10 CFR 73 and 32 CFR 117.
  • Validate government-issued identification and citizenship status for all guests.
  • Issue and track temporary visitor badges; ensure all badges are returned and accounted for daily.
  • Coordinate with internal "hosts" to ensure visitors are escorted according to site-specific security plans.
  • Maintain meticulous visitor logs and access records subject to NRC inspection.
  • Monitor for suspicious behaviors or anomalies during the check-in process and report concerns to the Insider Threat Program (ITP) Lead.
  • Practice strict Operations Security by protecting sensitive (though unclassified) information regarding executive schedules, facility vulnerabilities, and security shift rotations.
  • Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with internal audits, self-inspections, and NRC/DCSA Schedule.
  • Monitor executive calendars to identify potential security risks or the arrival of "unannounced" visitors, coordinating with the Protection Force Manager to adjust post orders as necessary.
  • Assist other admins in vetting international travel itineraries for executives to ensure compliance with ITP (Insider Threat Program) reporting requirements.
  • Work alongside C-Suite assistants to pre-clear VIPs, government officials, and board members, ensuring their arrival is seamless and fully compliant with OPSEC protocols without compromising the "executive experience."
