About The Position

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Security Account Manager to sell integrated physical security systems and services, including design, installation, and maintenance agreements. This role involves achieving annual booking and gross margin goals, developing new business through prospecting, networking, and referrals, and expanding services with existing customers. Key responsibilities include conducting site visits, performing needs assessments, developing customized proposals, and delivering compelling sales presentations. The Account Manager will build long-term relationships, provide accurate sales forecasts, maintain CRM records, and collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, operations, and finance to ensure successful project execution. The position also requires influencing specifications through relationships with contractors, developers, and consultants, and representing Sciens at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings. Sciens Building Solutions focuses on protecting people and property through sophisticated life safety, security, communication, and electrical systems.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in physical security system sales, preferably in the construction services or building systems industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security platforms.
  • Experience selling technical solutions through the contracting tier and to end users.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Strong negotiation skills and competitive spirit.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and territory management skills.
  • Able to travel by air and/or ground overnight, as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon) are a plus.

  • Develop new business through prospecting, networking, and referrals, while expanding services with existing customers.
  • Conduct site visits and needs assessments to develop customized proposals and system designs.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations using approved marketing materials to communicate Sciens’ value proposition.
  • Build long-term relationships through consultative selling and by positioning Sciens as a trusted advisor.
  • Provide accurate forecasts of sales activity and maintain up-to-date CRM records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, operations, and finance to ensure successful project execution.
  • Influence specifications through relationships with contractors, developers, and consultants.
  • Represent Sciens at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
