About The Position
The Analyst is a part of the Money Market/Mutual Fund team which provides operational support to UMB's fast-growing Corporate Trust and Institutional Custody departments. Within the Shared Services environment, this team interacts with various UMB clients and internal partners to evaluate and process requests regarding trading, sweeps, Money Market and Mutual fund securities. This associate will provide subject matter expertise and other duties as assigned. With our robust training to provide extensive UMB and financial knowledge, the team provides a high level of service to our internal & external partners. As an Analyst, you will be responsible for quality control reviews, receipt and disbursement approvals and daily balancing. You will assist with monthly accrual balancing and processing and assist with any new Money Market/Mutual fund security or portfolio setups. You will use Microsoft Excel to perform any ad hoc reporting as needed. You will also learn about our monthly revenue sharing reconciliation and act as a go-to-people for escalations and research on complex situations. You will also be expected to cross train and assist other teams as necessary for coverage purposes. The Shared Services team is about creating strong connections amongst its associates to develop and maintain a positive working experience. Requirements
- College degree
- At least two years of financial services experience
- Securities processing experience
- Any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background
Responsibilities
- Perform moderately complex financial calculations & processing related to securities and cash transactions.
- Identify system issues or defects and provide appropriate level of documentation to the appropriate support group.
- Use communication skills to provide a broad level of assistance during testing of system upgrades or implementation of new systems.
- Quality control reviews, receipt and disbursement approvals and daily balancing.
- Assist with monthly accrual balancing and processing.
- Assist with any new Money Market/Mutual fund security or portfolio setups.
- Perform ad hoc reporting as needed using Microsoft Excel.
- Learn about monthly revenue sharing reconciliation.
- Act as a go-to-person for escalations and research on complex situations.
- Cross train and assist other teams as necessary for coverage purposes.
