As a member of the Wealth Management and Advisory Services Investments (WMASI) team, the Securities Analyst analyzes investment securities and client portfolios; prepares reports; and assists in ongoing investment management. Essential Functions: Assists Portfolio Managers in management of investment securities or investment portfolios for individuals, employee benefit plans and institutions in a manner consistent with the Wealth Management & Advisory Services philosophy and discipline. Prepares reports as directed by Securities Portfolio Managers or requested by Relationship Managers. Prepares analysis of investment securities for prospective and existing client investment portfolios. Monitors investment securities or client accounts and alerts Securities Portfolio Managers including but not limited to the following: Changes to investment ratings are needed, Changes to the inclusion of or removal from investment performance groups, Any other change the analyst is initiating for an account. Initiates investment security or client account changes under the direction of Securities Portfolio Managers. Supports the Portfolio Manager of Selection & Trade Execution in the evaluation, monitoring and analysis of external investment managers, including mutual funds and other thirdâparty strategies, and assists with asset allocation research and implementation. Monitors accounts for inclusion or removal into or out of performance strategies Identifies potential investment securities that meet the criteria established by the Securities Portfolio Managers. Participates in the development of investment and risk management strategies for the WMASI team. Actively participates in WMASI meetings and strategy discussions. Stays current on news related to investment markets, investment securities or client accounts by reading and monitoring research subscriptions used within WMASI and acts as a resource for Portfolio Managers on these topics. Provides market commentary via daily team market update meeting. Ensures that their work is in compliance with all regulations and laws or internal policies and procedures. Actively represents Washington Trust Bank in community activities and organizations in a professional and confidential manner and promotes customer relations. Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned. Regular, reliable attendance is required. Gathers company/municipal financial quarterly and annual reports and prepares written review. Updates and maintains databases used to support the portfolio management process.
