About The Position

rand construction corporation is seeking a Superintendent for their Charlotte market, focusing on commercial and SCIF projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for all field staff, ensuring projects are built according to plans and specifications. This includes supervising carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors, and coordinating with Project Managers for timely delivery of materials, tools, equipment, information, and staff. The role involves managing project correspondence and forms, monitoring work, directing subcontractors, and scheduling work according to project requirements. The company is a woman-owned national commercial contractor, specializing in tenant interiors, retail, restaurants, and building renovations, with a strong culture of excellence and a history of promoting from within.

Requirements

  • 8 years experience as lead superintendent on SCIF, commercial interior, retail, renovation projects
  • Experience in SCIF construction: knowledge of TEMPEST requirements.
  • Expertise in secure facility construction and working knowledge of ICD/ICS 705 guidelines
  • Proven track record of independent judgment and decision-making when faced with matters of confidential or non-routine nature
  • Display exemplary performance in all project safety related categories
  • Interface with the client and client's leadership team at the highest level on schedule, updates, and challenges while effectively communicating plans and alternative solutions

  • High school diploma and two years of college preferred; or equivalent years of experience required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all field staff on a project.
  • Ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
  • Supervise work of carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers for timely delivery of materials, tools/equipment, information, and staff requirements.
  • Handle all correspondence and forms required by the rand office (daily reports, time sheets, safety reports, accident reports).
  • Monitor work being performed.
  • Direct subcontractors.
  • Schedule all work according to the requirements of the project schedule.
  • Audit jobsites during site walks to ensure standards are being met.
  • Assist teams with complex and specialty quality control issues.
  • Assist teams with pre-punch walks to check quality and ensure smooth/timely punch list process.
  • Act as point of contact to clients, facility security officers, and special security officers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
