About The Position

CBRE Government and Defense is seeking a Sector Director to lead day-to-day operations across assigned programs, contracts, and business units. This role involves developing and executing sector operating strategies aligned with company objectives, providing operational leadership for various services including construction, facilities management, and mission support. The Sector Director will ensure contract performance meets all requirements, monitor key performance indicators, and manage sector budgets, forecasting, and profitability. This position also supports business development, builds customer relationships, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with regulations like FAR and DFARS. The role requires leading organizational change and mitigating operational risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of progressive executive leadership experience managing large-scale Government and Commercial operations.
  • Operations and portfolio management.
  • Financial and P&L management.
  • Government contracting knowledge (FAR/DFARS).
  • Strategic planning and execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience managing multi-site operations and customer-facing programs.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations across assigned programs, contracts, and business units.
  • Develop and execute sector operating strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Provide operational leadership for construction, facilities management, BOS, O&M, custodial, mission support, and related services.
  • Ensure contract performance meets customer, contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage sector budgets, forecasting, profitability, labor planning, and resource utilization.
  • Partner with Finance to monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Support Business Development with capture efforts, proposals, transitions, and growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, contracting officers, and key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational standardization, and best practices across the sector.
  • Collaborate with HR, Contracts, Procurement, IT, Safety, Quality, Legal, and other corporate support functions.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, company policies, and all applicable regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks while supporting business continuity planning.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives to improve operational performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor regional, program, and site leadership teams.
  • Establish performance expectations, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Support succession planning, coaching, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
