This role is responsible for managing the Process, Automation, Maintenance, Set-up, and Technical Trainees for their respective section. This includes training, assigning daily tasks and priorities, and managing accountability. The position ensures customer requirements are met, reviews corrective actions, and understands all product and quality specifications of active products. The manager oversees job changes, including cycle times and automation processes, and is involved with sampling and materials for new products. They also oversee set-up operations for mold changes, are on call for troubleshooting, and manage production changeovers. A key responsibility is ensuring company systems (ISO, QS, UL, NSF policies) are in place, followed, and maintained, and that products meet established quality criteria. The role involves developing and communicating plans to reduce scrap and manage regrind effectively, ensuring duties are defined and met by direct reports, and reviewing/approving performance evaluations. Maintaining a safe and clean environment, reviewing and investigating accident reports, and ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees by upholding policies and procedures are also critical. The manager reviews machine capacity, production schedules, and work order assignments, assigns action items, and follows up on completion, holding individuals accountable. They audit manufacturing cycle times, report issues, and lead/participate in continuous improvement activities. Additionally, they monitor and require proper usage of work forms and thorough completion of all preventative maintenance throughout the plant. The role may also involve being a HACCP Team Member if named on HACCP Plan(s).
