About The Position

The Section Manager SOX Program Management Office is responsible for the management and oversight of Con Edison's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program, which is part of the Finance organization. The group reports to the Director of SOX and Enterprise Risk Management, who reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The individual leads all efforts related to oversight and execution of the Company's SOX program. SOX is a federal regulation that requires management to document, assess and make representations regarding the effectiveness of the corporation's internal control structure for financial reporting. The position requires expertise in the design, operation and maintenance of internal controls, interpreting changes in SOX requirements, and coordinating SOX compliance activities throughout the Company. The position requires an individual with strong leadership, team building and relationship management skills. The section manager will be required to train, influence, and marshal a wide and diverse group of stakeholders across the enterprise. The Section Manager must have relevant knowledge and experience, excellent project management and planning capabilities, and expertise in process mapping and control design. The individual must interact effectively with all levels of management, write and speak clearly, manage his/her subordinates' time effectively, and consistently provide high-quality results within established deadlines. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.
