About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Drainage Section Manager to join our team! In this role you will serve as Engineer-of-Record for drainage design on transportation projects, lead project coordination and document development, oversee quality control, mentor junior staff, support client relationships, and contribute to marketing and business development efforts. Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field required
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 15+ years of relevant, progressive transportation drainage design experience including a strong background in FDOT projects.
  • Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead drainage design for complex transportation projects and manage a team of drainage engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a lead technical professional for transportation drainage tasks such as the design of stormwater management systems, open and closed section drainage systems, bridge hydraulics and preparation of associated documentation.
  • Experience and/or willingness to participate in business development activities.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as Engineer-of-Record (EOR) for drainage design on transportation projects.
  • Responsible charge of task and/or project including coordination with discipline leaders, consultant/sub-consultants and coordination with the client for the full length of the design and construction (post-design) cycle.
  • Establishing work plans, oversee/lead the development of engineering documents including plans, reports and permit application packages, track project progress and schedule.
  • Perform Quality Control reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance to groups and junior engineers.
  • Training, mentoring and coaching the team on drainage design.
  • Facilitate career development of junior engineers and designers through active mentorship, providing formal and informal feedback and seizing opportunities to develop and teach new skills.
  • Develop relationships with key clients, agencies and teaming partners.
  • Participate and/or lead marketing efforts for drainage tasks, prepare marketing materials, perform research, prepare and attend presentations, prepare fee proposals and negotiate with clients.
