Key responsibilities include managing workload for timely project completion through all phases (programming, approval, design, construction, occupancy, close-out) and collaborating with diverse departments in Clinical, Research, Education, and Administrative areas.

Requirements

A minimum of a BS Degree in Engineering or Architecture or Construction Management is required.
Extensive organization and planning skills.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and efficiently.
Good decision-making and judgement capabilities, with excellent attention to detail and follow through.
Ability to define, prioritize and achieve realistic, specific goals and objectives with leadership skills of planning and vision.
Adaptable/flexible in a changing environment.
Ability to work with a wide range of personalities.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Strong team building skills.
Presentation skills to present projects to large and small groups and committees.
Eight years of project management experience in addition to five years of Mayo/Facilities Project Service project management experience.

Nice To Haves

Master degree in engineering, architecture or business is preferred.
Advanced education beyond a BS degree, such as an MS, MA or MBA, or second BS/BA degree in related fields of engineering, architecture, and health related fields is preferred.
Registered Professional Engineer or Architect preferred.

Responsibilities

Management and supervision of Project Managers and Construction Managers assigned to the respective practice area.
Management of selected processes affecting all Mayo current and future Property and Facilities.
Supporting the Practice with all space and facilities needs.
Providing leadership, vision, direction, and strategic planning for a large work unit (exceeding 800 contract construction and design staff, plus dozens of Mayo Facilities Project Managers, Program Managers, and Construction Managers).
Managing one or more processes such as Project Accounting Support, Project/Construction Management Software, Training/Education, Work Load Management, Contractor Statistics, Uniform Standards of Practice.
Rotating to the Section Head of other practice areas within Facilities Project Services.
Working cooperatively with other Section Heads of Facilities Project Services in the rotation of Project Managers and Construction Managers and management of assigned processes.
Serving as a Senior Facilities Project Manager, managing complex Facilities Projects within Mayo Clinic Rochester and Mayo Health System.
Managing and organizing a large workload for timely completion of projects through all phases.
Collaborating with a diverse group of departments within Clinical, Research, Education, and Administrative areas.
