About The Position

EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) is seeking a part-time Section Editor for Urology for its DynaMed product. This role is responsible for developing and editing high-quality content within the Urology domain, applying clinical knowledge and evidence-based medicine principles. The candidate will analyze and critically appraise medical research, edit work from the editorial team, and contribute to the strategic plan for content development. This position requires an average time commitment of 4-6 hours per week and offers compensation within a specified range. Requirements

  • MD or DO with license/certification current and in good standing
  • Specialty board certification (if applicable)
  • Ongoing participation in clinical activity
  • > 5 years of direct patient care
  • Familiar with the coverage of content in DynaMed in Urology
  • Demonstrated understanding of use of health information technology to support clinical decision-making
  • Ability to exercise judgment, to make decisions and produce content requiring minimal changes
  • Ability to self-manage multiple tasks and priorities within deadlines, and report on work produced
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, such as initiative and a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills such that feedback is effectively and constructively given

Responsibilities

  • Determine overall editorial strategic plan for content development and maintenance of your Specialty in collaboration with the Deputy Editor
  • Help recruit specialists in your field to serve as Topic Editors as needed
  • Perform clinical proofing of DynaMed topics and act as a clinical resource for other team members
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Promote product adoption and usage via sales support at conferences or in online meetings with healthcare systems that are considering adoption of DynaMed
  • Participate in the assessment of recently published articles for potential inclusion in DynaMed as well as clinical review of DynaMed content derived from included studies
  • Assume additional responsibility for content, workflow, or projects that create value in pursuing DynaMed’s mission
  • Participate in the development of Hospitalist-focused content and algorithms
  • Oversee selection and clinical review of multimedia within Urology
