About The Position

The Secretary/Treasurer position at the Kokomo Area Career Center (KACC) is a full-time role requiring 37.5 hours per week, spread across 260 days (12 months) annually. The hourly rate is $17.50. This role involves providing secretarial support to the Principal, managing the main office as an office manager, and performing the duties of a school treasurer. The position requires interaction with KACC parents, students, staff, other schools, and community members. Key responsibilities include accurately preparing and submitting state and federal reports by their deadlines, maintaining financial documents such as account spreadsheets and reports, and processing orders, invoices, checks, and reimbursements for various school activities. The Secretary/Treasurer will also assist the director, assistant director, or career counselor with additional assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some higher-level education and/or work-related experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology software and platforms and effectively use in a school setting.
  • Must be able to protect and not share any confidential student and staff information.
  • Good accounting skills and able to calculate financial figures and amounts.
  • Able to oversee account spreadsheets and follow established procedures and policies for financial reporting.
  • Able to perform each essential listed duty and additional responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities
