About The Position

This role supports nursing personnel in providing direct and indirect patient care within an ambulatory surgery setting. The Secretary/Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring proper cleaning and preparation of patient care areas, and restocking supplies. They also play a role in patient transport, anticipating patient and family needs, and making timely entries into the electronic log. The position requires competence in preparing specialty equipment and supporting nursing staff with room turnover and setup, all while demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and a positive image.

Requirements

  • Per Diem Days, 7a-3p shift
  • Ambulatory Surgery setting experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides a clean and safe environment.
  • Provides a safe transport of all patients.
  • Cleans and prepares all patient care areas properly.
  • Anticipates patient and family needs and follows through with the same.
  • Restocking of supplies and maintaining order in patient care, supply and linen areas.
  • Supports nursing personnel in providing direct and indirect patient care.
  • Maintains awareness of the unit activities needs daily.
  • Makes entries into the electronic log accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork by fostering positive work relationships.
  • Supports nursing personnel bay turnover and set up.
  • Competent in preparing specialty equipment.
  • Anticipates needs of nursing staff.
  • Demonstrates a positive image.
  • Acts as a patient advocate and is responsible for providing a safe and clean environment in all the peri-operative/ procedural areas.
  • Cleans equipment thoroughly, using appropriate cleansers in patient care areas.
