The Role: Oversees the racing operations office and acts as liaison between on all horseman issues
Responsibilities
- Writes races and oversees entries and programs
- Determine acceptability and eligibility of horses and provide proper classification to obtain a high level of competitiveness
- Approves the all the trainers and horses which participate in the live meet.
- Publish the conditions sheets in accordance with the USTA and Colorado Gaming/Racing Division rules once or twice each week of racing
- Oversee the managerial operations of the racing office, to include hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and separations
- Works closely with Colorado Racing Commission to ensure racing rules and regulations are followed.
- Recruits horses for live meet.
- Act as a liaison on behalf of Arapahoe Park management with the horsemen relating to horsemen’s issues
- Oversees and ensures that employees work safely and follow all safety rules
- Manages payroll and labor costs
- Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
