About The Position

This position involves performing advanced-level secretarial duties requiring independent judgment and analysis. The role includes planning, organizing, and coordinating office activities and communications to relieve the Director of routine administrative and clerical details. The Secretary II will work independently with little direction, analyze situations accurately, and adopt effective courses of action. Responsibilities also include composing correspondence, interpreting and applying rules and regulations, maintaining records, preparing reports, and communicating effectively both orally and in writing. The role requires meeting schedules and timelines, demonstrating computer proficiency, and maintaining self-discipline and cooperation with staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or satisfactory progress toward G.E.D.
  • Demonstrate and/or develop skills to operate office and educational equipment
  • A minimum of two years of increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience.
  • Must meet the requirements of a criminal record check as specified by Kentucky state law.
  • Has met health requirements as specified in district personnel policy.
  • Knowledge of and use of a computer.
  • Self-discipline.
  • Cooperation with staff, both certified and classified.
