About The Position

Fortis Industries is interviewing for a Secretary II for our O&M contract in Ft. Worth Texas. As a Secretary II, you will use appropriate clerical methods to complete assignments, consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be proficient in the operations of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Applicants must have at least a High school diploma / GED or equivalent
  • Applicant must be experienced in performing routine clerical functions with attention to detail, have the ability to work independently and in a team environment, and respond positively to new emergent and unique project task requirements to successfully meet critical deadlines.
  • Applicant must receive favorable background and drug screen results
  • Applicant must meet eligibility requirements for access to government computer
  • Full time, non-exempt

  • Applicants are preferred to be proficient in the operation of MAXIMO.
  • Applicants are preferred to have had at least 2 years’ experience

Responsibilities

  • Handling differing situations, problems and deviations in the work of the office according to the supervisor’s general instructions, priorities, duties, policies, and program goals.
  • Screening calls, visitors and incoming correspondence.
  • Responding to requests for information concerning office procedures and determining who in the office should be responsible for handling each request.
  • Prepare and sign routine, non-technical correspondence.
  • Making arrangements for conferences and meetings and attending such meetings to record and report on the proceedings.
  • Review outgoing materials and correspondence for internal consistency and conformance with supervisor’s procedures and assure that proper clearances have been obtained, when needed.
  • Use of computer programs. Provide support and office skills to the managers in support of the contract efforts.
  • Demonstration of routine office functions with attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines
  • Collect information from the files or staff for routine inquiries on office program(s) or periodic reports, and refer non-routine requests to supervisor or staff
  • Preparing special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, other offices, etc., under general directions
