About The Position

The Secondary Operator is responsible for various stages of spring processing, including loading and unloading springs into drying, heat-treating, and passivation ovens/tanks. This role also involves rinsing springs, inspecting for defects, packing finished parts, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The operator must adhere to all safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards, and may be assigned other duties by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions.
• High mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn manufacturing processes.
• Ability to safely lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload springs into and out of drying ovens in accordance with established work instructions.
• Load and unload springs into and out of heat-treating ovens while maintaining required production standards.
• Load and unload springs into and out of passivation tanks following established safety and quality procedures.
• Rinse springs after completion of the passivation process to ensure product quality specifications are met.
• Inspect parts for obvious defects and notify the supervisor of any quality concerns.
• Pack finished parts according to company standards and prepare them for transfer to the shipping area.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety policies.
• Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
