About The Position

Provide leadership, coordination, and professional learning to ensure an aligned instructional program for assigned secondary subject area.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of curriculum design and implementation, assessment, and technology
  • Ability to evaluate effective instructional programs
  • Ability to develop and facilitate adult learning experiences
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive content knowledge in the area of assigned subject and in best instructional practices, including literacy in the content area
  • Ability to collaborate effectively
  • Understanding of the culture of professional learning communities
  • Evaluate and interpret legal policies related to assigned secondary subject area
  • Ability to manage budget
  • Minimum of three years of secondary teaching

Nice To Haves

  • Texas Administrative certification preferred
  • Instructional leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, strengthen, and coordinate the secondary content area instructional programming within Frisco ISD to support alignment to District goals.
  • Coordinate the development, evaluation, and revision of assigned subject area curriculum and assessment documents and instructional materials.
  • Coordinate learning around curriculum design.
  • Develop new courses.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching and Learning directors and campus leadership in supporting the instructional program.
  • Ensure the horizontal and vertical alignment of the subject area curriculum, including interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Analyze state and District assessment data to improve student achievement.
  • Facilitate analysis of data among various levels of the system.
  • Coordinate the selection and implementation of instructional materials in the subject area.
  • Implement and monitor applicable policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education Rules, and local Board policy.
  • Coordinate District functions.
  • Employ interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Commit to work interdependently with District and campus staff and share responsibility for the learning of all Frisco ISD students.
  • Maintain deep collaborative partnerships with District and campus staff.
  • Serve as liaison with appropriate state and national organizations and network with area districts to collaborate and share best practices.
  • Communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
  • Disseminate information regarding current research, best practices, and significant developments in state and national policy.
  • Implement an ongoing, systematic, research-based professional learning program that is based on District and campus data and is aligned with District and campus goals.
  • Support campus instructional coaches through professional learning and coaching.
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning for teachers and administrators.
  • Stay informed within assigned subject area methodology and best teaching practices through research and participate in professional learning activities and professional meetings that grow capacity.
  • Take the initiative to develop skills appropriate to job assignments.
  • Promote the integration of digital learning tools.
