About The Position

This role involves performing complex troubleshooting and repair of equipment and operational malfunctions. The technician will be responsible for maintaining all electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring production schedules are met, and adhering to quality and safety standards. This includes working with a variety of machinery, systems, and tools, and interpreting technical drawings.

Requirements

Ability to reason through and analyze complex problems associated with equipment and operational malfunctions.
Ability to perform trouble-shooting functions to the board level.
Ability to troubleshoot PLC, PC problems.
Ability to install, inspect, adjust, repair and maintain all electrical equipment.
Ability to make overall electrical repairs on plant equipment up to 480Volts.
Ability to perform medium voltage switching.
Ability to troubleshoot, calibrate and adjust instruments as required.
Ability to interpret and maintain analysis information/calculate results.
Ability to install, inspect, repair, PM and maintain all mechanical equipment except forming machines.
Working knowledge of Fire Suppression system, troubleshooting and repair wet and dry systems.
Working knowledge of Compressed Air system, troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to rig all types of equipment including batch elevator belts, structural steel, motors, pumps, fans to meet structural standards.
Ability to perform Lehr work including end roller swap/repair, drive roller swap/repair, Lehr chain repair/replace.
Required to do complex welding in all types of formats and situations, type of welding rod, type of gas and ventilation.
Knowledge of correct welding technique that fits the situation and material being used, do work to code.
Good understanding of reasoning behind various water systems, be able to make repairs and maintain production using correct back up systems, soft water, well water, city water, cullet water, throat, cooling towers, closed-loop system, and batch system respective pumping systems along with emergency back up systems, and their proper usages.
Ability to build, install, repair & maintain all sheet metal work, including the construction of guards, patterns, duct work.
Working knowledge of Cracked Gas, Heating Gas, Process Gas process steam, Reactor firing. Gas dryers, gas filters, heat exchangers, instrumentation, gas pressure and usage point evaluation.
Ability to run piping, black iron, stainless, PVC, copper, Victaulic.
Ability to review, repair, maintain, adjust, replace, etc., all automatic handling machines and equipment to manufacture product to the quality specifications at the optimum level of efficiency.
Ability to direct erection of scaffolding and rigging for overhead repair.
Required to do complex overhead welding.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and repair associated with steam and boiler systems.
Must always follow Lock Out, Tag Out procedures.
Maintain quality housekeeping and good safety practices in the work area.
Must complete all course requirements and training (experience) as a qualification for this position.
Operate from complex CAD drawings.

Responsibilities

Reason through and analyze complex problems associated with equipment and operational malfunctions.
Perform trouble-shooting functions to the board level.
Troubleshoot PLC, PC problems.
Install, inspect, adjust, repair and maintain all electrical equipment.
Responsible for complex work planning in support of production schedules.
Check all machines on the production line during shift for preventative maintenance including proper lubrication, making necessary repairs when possible and notifying supervision of repairs needed for next scheduled stop.
Make overall electrical repairs on plant equipment up to 480Volts.
Perform medium voltage switching.
Troubleshoot, Calibrate and adjust instruments as required.
Interpret and maintain analysis information/calculate results.
Install, inspect, repair, PM and maintain all mechanical equipment except forming machines.
Troubleshoot and repair wet and dry fire suppression systems.
Troubleshoot and repair compressed air systems.
Rig all types of equipment including batch elevator belts, structural steel, motors, pumps, fans to meet structural standards.
