About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining all automation equipment. The role requires understanding and following company policies, procedures, and safety protocols. The technician will be involved in setting up automation for specific jobs, including changing tooling and recalibrating equipment. A key aspect of the role involves programming, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on PLCs and automation systems. The position also requires maintaining 5S standards, clear communication with colleagues and management, and regular attendance.

Requirements

  • A thorough understanding of the hazard communication program.
  • Ability to identify and report malfunctions of the equipment.
  • Computer and electronics skills.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and various instruments.
  • Broad-based knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve problems related to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.
  • Good understanding of Fanuc systems or equivalent systems.
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read, understand blueprints and apply understanding to the task.
  • Understanding and ability to identify different materials used in the department.
  • Capability of selecting the proper tools and gauges required for the products produced.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion (walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time).
  • Must be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain all automation equipment.
  • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Set up all automation for specific jobs, including changing out tooling and recalibrating equipment.
  • Program PLCs and troubleshoot ladder logic programs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for automation equipment.
  • Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor systems, isolate problems, and perform repairs.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with co-workers, Team Lead, supervisors, and management.
  • Maintain all 5S standards throughout the department on a daily basis.
  • Assure a safe working environment for self and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
