Requirements

  • 2 years of kitchen experience, preferably in hotel operation
  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts from a recognized college or culinary school
  • Experience with hot and cold food prep, grill, fryer, or oven stations
  • Food Safe certification required
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume Kitchen
  • Comfortable working with guests in a public areas
  • Energetic, self-motivated, out-going, team-player

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent preparation and execution of all food items in accordance with hotel recipes and standards, delivering the highest quality product to both guests and colleagues
  • Producing the best hot & cold food and beverages served in the staff cafeteria
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and allergies
  • Assist and support other kitchen areas and fellow colleagues as needed
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed and has the knowledge and tools to work safely
  • Maintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Completes all temperature records, honestly and correctly
  • Cleaning of kitchen equipment including line fridges
  • Maintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to all hotel colleagues & leaders
  • Performs other duties as assigned
