Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• A valid Driver’s License
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to safely work outdoors and near traffic

Nice To Haves

• Current enrollment or completion of coursework in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Works, Transportation, Planning, GIS, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in field work, maintenance, construction, public works, utilities, landscaping, data collection, or related work environments is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience with field work, construction, maintenance, public works, data collection, or related activities is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performing field visits and observations
• Collecting traffic volume and speed data
• Assisting with data entry and database maintenance
• Supporting basic traffic and transportation studies
• Assisting with traffic control and work zone reviews
• Supporting traffic signal and special event operations
• Responding to neighborhood traffic concerns
• Assisting sign and pavement marking crews as needed
• Supporting transportation and public works staff on seasonal projects
• Performing related duties as assigned
