About The Position
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Region Three is now hiring a Seasonal Transportation Technician I to support operations at our Roosevelt Maintenance Station. This is a Seasonal, Full-Time Hours, Career Service Exempt (Schedule TL - Time Limited, At-Will) position.
Requirements
- Must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) upon hire.
- Ability to report to the Roosevelt Maintenance Station (400 W Hwy 40, Roosevelt, UT 84066) within 30 minutes during call-outs.
- Willingness to work nights, be on-call, and respond promptly during severe weather and winter storms.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Dependable, motivated team player who prioritizes safety and takes pride in public service.
Nice To Haves
- Previous UDOT, heavy roadway maintenance, or highway construction experience.
- Heavy equipment and CDL vehicle operation.
- Commercial snow removal and winter driving operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment and perform specialized roadway maintenance.
- Clear state roadways using snowplows, graders, blowers, and specialized heavy equipment.
- Repair traffic signs, fences, guardrails, and other critical roadway features.
- Safely operate, inspect, and maintain CDL-restricted vehicles, tools, and heavy equipment.
- Assist with urgent roadway issues and storm response as needed.
