About The Position

SGL Financial is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join their team for the upcoming tax season. This role is designed for a tax professional who excels at preparing high-quality returns, managing multiple tasks, and collaborating within a team. The majority of the work involves behind-the-scenes preparation, with occasional client interaction as required. SGL Financial is an established firm with over 20 years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, and tax services in the Chicagoland area.

Requirements

CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
3+ years of individual tax preparation experience preferred
Strong knowledge of tax laws, compliance requirements, and tax preparation procedures
Experience meeting directly with clients and discussing tax matters
Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work onsite in our Buffalo Grove office during tax season
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

Experience with trust, partnership, or amended returns is a plus
ProSeries experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Prepare individual federal and state income tax returns, including Forms 1040 and 1041
Prepare returns involving Schedules A, C, D, and E
Meet with clients to collect tax information and review completed returns
Assist clients with tax-related questions and requests
Prepare extensions, estimated tax payments, and tax projections
Gather and maintain supporting tax documentation
Deliver exceptional client service throughout tax season
