WNA CPAs is seeking an experienced tax professional to join our team for the upcoming tax season in a manager-level review and client service role. Seasonal managers at WNA carry real client relationships, review complex returns, and provide technical guidance to our staff. This position is ideal for an experienced tax professional who can step into a busy season and immediately add value through review, technical guidance, and client service. The Seasonal Tax Manager prepares and reviews individual and business tax returns during the filing season while serving as a technical resource for staff and clients. This position performs detailed reviews of the team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness, and on-time completion, manages engagement schedules and time budgets, and conducts tax research as needed. This role requires a proactive professional who can operate independently within the firm’s established priorities while exercising sound judgment, communicating effectively, and taking ownership of client service and project outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and the ability to produce accurate work under filing-season deadlines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Five or more years of public accounting experience with recent tax experience
Strong technical tax knowledge
Ability to work with a high level of accuracy, detail-oriented and organized
Ability to exercise discretion with confidential client and firm information
Strong time management and multitasking skills
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and become productive with minimal onboarding

Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
Ensure filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
Perform detailed reviews of the team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness, and timely completion of assignment tasks
Provide technical guidance and coaching to preparers and seniors
Serve as a technical resource for staff and clients throughout the season
Effectively manage schedule and project time budgets
Anticipate and communicate budget issues and identify opportunities to improve assignment profitability
Perform all work in compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures
Identify workflow or process issues and recommend practical improvements
Perform tax research when necessary and document conclusions
Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the filing season
