Looking for a summer job that offers hands-on, real‑world work? Lehigh County Authority (LCA) in Allentown, PA is hiring Seasonal Workers to support our maintenance, laboratory, and engineering teams! These opportunities run from early May through the end of August and offer meaningful, hands‑on work that supports the passionate team that provides high-quality, safe, and reliable water and wastewater services to the Lehigh Valley! What the Job Looks Like Seasonal employees will be assigned to one of the below areas, based on interest, skills, and department needs: Maintenance & Field Support Outdoor and facility‑based work supporting maintenance technicians and field crews Projects related to water and wastewater operations including painting and sanding, mowing grass and weed whacking, minor building and facility repairs, assisting with the fire hydrant project Schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm or 7:00am – 3:30pm Laboratory Support Assisting staff with basic lab‑related work Supporting day‑to‑day laboratory operations Schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm or 7:00am – 3:30pm Engineering Support Filing, scanning, and organizing engineering records Providing general office and project support Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:15am – 4:45pm

Requirements

  • LCA employees must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (needed to operate company vehicles)
  • Must be safety focused, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Field roles will work outside in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., and stand for long periods.
  • Lab/Engineering roles involve standing/sitting for long periods in an indoor environment

  • Some prior experience related to the area you’re applying is highly desired

Responsibilities
