Job Description The Intern will support the Energetics team with research, analysis, and project support related to energy efficiency, energy transition, and sustainability initiatives. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to clean energy consulting work, offering students the opportunity to contribute to real projects that support utilities, government agencies, and industry stakeholders working toward a more sustainable energy future. This role is ideal for students interested in energy, sustainability, engineering, policy, or analytics who want practical experience in a mission‑driven consulting environment.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy Studies, Environmental Science, Policy, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Ability to synthesize information and communicate clearly in writing and presentations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Interest in energy efficiency, decarbonization, or sustainability
  • Exciting candidates have Active enrollment as a 3rd or 4th year pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with a graduation date no earlier than May/June 2026
  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, English, Process Engineering, or a related field
  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer (early June – early August )
  • Based in the Madison area
  • Interest and ambitious to work in fast-paced energy efficiency industry

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams with research, data analysis, and documentation related to energy and sustainability initiatives
  • Assist with gathering, organizing, and summarizing technical, market, or policy information
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and written deliverables for internal teams and external clients
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff on active projects
  • Assist with project coordination tasks such as tracking action items, timelines, and deliverables
  • Perform ad‑hoc analysis or administrative support as needed to advance project goals
