About The Position

The Temporary Distribution Supervisor provides direct supervision for distribution and labeling operations for hourly and seasonal personnel.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Previous Lean Manufacturing experience
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or warehousing
  • 4-year degree in Logistics, Business or Engineering preferred or combination of Associates Degree and 2-3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety rules.
  • Scheduling and overseeing distribution and label line staff.
  • Managing special packaging and labeling functions to ensure volume and variable costs are within guidelines set by the annual operating plan.
  • Directing training and development of full-time hourly and seasonal employees to achieve desired quality, safety, and production goals.
  • Obtaining variable production costs that meet or exceed the operating plan.
  • Providing direction and leadership to maintain and centralize labeling, packaging, and distribution functions to operate at approved levels set in the annual operating plan.
  • Ensuring that volume efficiencies and fixed and variable cost containments stay within guidelines set by the annual operating plan.
  • Ensuring accurate inventory of finished product is maintained.
  • Assisting in directing capital improvement and maintenance programs.
  • Adjusting staff to improve variable costs and efficiencies.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of capital budget projects as assigned to ensure effective and efficient installations that will achieve desired operational results.
  • Ensuring compliance with all approved and applicable safety rules.
  • Promoting positive employee/labor relations, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations and corporate guidelines regarding personnel management.
  • Supporting and facilitating the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
