About The Position

Under general supervision, this position functions as a front-line provider of services operating automotive and maintenance equipment to perform winter road maintenance and snow/ice removal duties. This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate in pre-employment and random drug testing under Town’s policies. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.
  • Ability to perform assigned work independently with direction.
  • Ability to work twelve- (12) hour shifts during emergency conditions on short notice.
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time outside and in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to identify and implement risk management techniques to reduce exposure to injury, damage, and liability.
  • Ability to adhere to all applicable work safety rules, procedures and equipment operations as presented.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other individuals within the department.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment as needed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and the public.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver License issued by the State of Colorado, with air brakes and tanker endorsements is preferred.
  • Snow removal experience with a municipal agency is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and operates specialized vehicles, equipment, and tools including dump trucks with plow and sanders to perform snow removal duties.
  • Maintains records of assignments completed.
  • Ensures compliance with all organizational values, policies, procedures.
  • Works on call as needed during the winter season which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
