About The Position
Lakeside Book Company is seeking a Seasonal Shipping Dock Worker for their Distribution Center. This role involves accurately labeling, sorting, palletizing, and wrapping product for shipment, as well as safely loading product to the correct carrier. The position requires communication with supervisors regarding any issues and adherence to all safety policies. Overtime opportunities are available throughout the summer months, with mandatory hours and overtime expected from June through September. Requirements
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience - required
- Basic math skills for accuracy in order picking
- Proven success working in fast-paced, physically demanding seasonal periods
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout duration of 8 to 10-hour shift
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) to be able to collaborate with team members and follow direction from leadership
- This position requires continuous and repetitive lifting of boxes weighing 50lbs+
Responsibilities
- Accurately label, sort, palletize, and wrap product for shipment
- Safely load product to correct carrier for shipment
- Communicate with supervisors regarding discrepancies, damage, or order issues
- Adherence to all safety policies – steel toes required
