About The Position

This internship offers a comprehensive learning experience within the Rooms Division of a hotel. The intern will gain exposure to various operational duties, including front desk operations, guest services, housekeeping coordination, and administrative tasks. The role involves learning hotel software, participating in guest satisfaction initiatives, and understanding revenue management strategies. Additionally, the intern will support laundry operations, assist with housekeeping duties, and help maintain cleanliness and organization in various hotel areas. This position is designed to provide broad exposure to hotel management and leadership responsibilities within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily Front Desk operations, including guest check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by responding to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure guest rooms are clean, inspected, and ready for arrival.
  • Learn and utilize the property's Property Management System (PMS) and other hotel software.
  • Assist with guest satisfaction initiatives and service recovery efforts.
  • Support the Rooms Division team with administrative tasks, reporting, and special projects.
  • Observe and participate in revenue optimization and occupancy management strategies.
  • Support communication between Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other hotel departments.
  • Learn hotel policies, procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Complete assigned projects designed to provide exposure to hotel management and leadership responsibilities.
  • Assist with laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens according to hotel standards.
  • Support House Aide duties by delivering guest amenities, replenishing housekeeping supplies, and maintaining cleanliness of public areas.
  • Assist with maintaining organization and cleanliness of housekeeping storage areas, linen rooms, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Support luggage assistance and guest requests throughout the property.
  • Help prepare guest rooms for arrivals by ensuring required amenities and supplies are properly stocked.
  • Assist with pool, courtyard, and public area inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Support inventory counts and supply management for Rooms Division departments.
  • Perform various operational duties as assigned to gain exposure to all aspects of hotel operations.
