About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-driven selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, offer personalized recommendations, connect them with products and services, and work toward sales goals through customer engagement and effective selling behaviors. The role involves more than cashiering: you help create customer loyalty and ensure the shopping space is clean, organized, and inviting. Colleagues prepare for each day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals, top-selling items, trends, and promotions, and getting the sales floor ready. During customer interactions, they offer a warm welcome and friendly, personal service. They also maintain a shoppable space by merchandising new receipts, processing damages and items for return to vendors, updating signs and pricing, and supporting merchandise moves. Colleagues share loyalty program benefits, help customers complete their shopping, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled for 10–20 hours per week, depending on business needs and colleague availability. The position requires flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as dependable attendance and punctuality.
