About The Position

InterHealth Medical Staffing Solutions, a staffing division of Tampa General Hospital, is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in the Operating Room. This role offers significantly higher base pay, generous shift differentials, and benefits for purchase. The position is with a Magnet-designated nursing team and provides a schedule that fits your lifestyle. Opportunities for full-time or part-time conversion and contract extensions may be available. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience within the specific division and be deemed competent to work independently. The Registered Nurse will deliver nursing care to patients under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. Responsibilities include planning and implementing nursing care, documenting assessments, identifying and reporting situations requiring further intervention, formulating and communicating a goal-directed plan of care, and assuring patient rights. Job duties must be performed in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement. The ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, and flexible, willing to work in all pre-op and post-op departments caring for patients of various surgical disciplines.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
  • BSN or if an ASN must have 1+ yr RN hospital experience and enrolled in BSN program
  • 2 years of experience in Operating Room required
  • Additional experience in Critical Care, Level 1 Trauma Center PACU or Level 1 Trauma Center ED required
  • BLS required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the specific division being hired into
  • Deemed competent to work independently

  • BSN highly preferred
