Seasonal Registered Nurse - General Surgery
About The Position
InterHealth Staffing, a staffing division of TGH, is offering 13-week seasonal assignments for Registered Nurses in General Surgery. These positions offer competitive pay, potential for contract extensions, and the opportunity to experience TGH's culture with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. Tampa General Hospital is a leading safety net hospital and the primary teaching hospital for the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. This role is within a Magnet-designated nursing team and offers a schedule that fits your lifestyle. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the specific division and be deemed competent to work independently. The position is on a 26-bed Emergency General Surgery post-operative unit, recognized by the American College of Surgeons. This unit specializes in the recovery and management of adult surgical patients, including those recovering from emergent procedures like appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, bowel resections, and complex wound surgeries. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team focused on evidence-based care, patient safety, clinical outcomes, early mobility, infection prevention, and wound healing.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- BLS required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the specific division being hired into.
- Deemed competent to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care to patients under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines.
- Plans and implements nursing care.
- Documents nursing assessments.
- Identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention.
- Formulates and communicates a goal-directed plan of care.
- Assures patient rights.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.
