About The Position

This seasonal position in Public Works promotes healthy infrastructure for the Citizens of O'Fallon and helps build maintenance career skills. The role may involve working with the Water, Wastewater & Streets Divisions, performing various maintenance duties essential to the overall operation of Public Works facilities. While intended as a youth job training program, other applicants are also considered.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (ability to read and write the English language)
• Minimum age to apply is 18 due to insurance requirements
• A valid driver's license & clear driving record
• Ability to use or learn to use a wide variety of tools and equipment
• Strong customer service skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision
• Regular and predictable attendance

Responsibilities

• Mowing
• Painting curbs & sign posts
• Litter pick up & disposal
• Other cleaning
• Inventory
• Weeding & manual labor including lifting & moving heavy materials occasionally
